On April 23, 2023, the High-level Forum for the Cultivation of Top Talents in Chinese was successfully held in Nanjing. Experts and leaders from 17 universities including Peking University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Jilin University, Northwest University, Beijing Normal University, Capital Normal University, Wuhan University, Nankai University, Jinan University, East China Normal University, Central China Normal University, Shandong University, Xiamen University, Shaanxi Normal University, Renmin University of China and Nanjing University attended the Forum to share ideas and contribute insights on cultivating top-notch talents in Chinese. Professor Yang Zhong, Executive Vice Secretary of CPC NJU Committee, Professor Zhang Fugui, Chairman of the Chinese Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, Professor Zhang Fugui, Senior Professor of Philosophy and Social Sciences at Jilin University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The opening ceremony was chaired by Ni Jiao, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the School of Liberal Arts of NJU.
During the Forum, an initial proposal was submitted to establish an alliance aimed at cultivating top talents in Chinese language and literature across universities. The experts in attendance expressed their desire to maintain and strengthen communication, sharing, and cooperation among universities. They emphasized the importance of working together to enhance the mechanism for nurturing top talents, while comprehensively improving educational capabilities and quality.
